Choose between a one day, day and a half or two day tour of Petra. You can either go as a group or take a private tour. Use our online reservation form to secure your place on any of the tours of Petra from Israel.
The day starts with an early morning pick up (about 7:00 AM) from your Eilat hotel. The trip to the Arava border crossing takes just a few minutes. Someone will be at the border crossing to assist you with the crossover to Jordan.
On the Jordanian side you will be taken to Petra, a two hour drive through the breathtaking Jordanian desert landscape. On the way, a licensed tourguide will explain about the history of Jordan, the Nabateans and the magical Rose-Red, Lost City of Petra. The tour is conducted in English (tours in other languages are available if arranged in advance).
Once you get to Petra your tour guide will accompany you into the Wadi Siq (canyon) and explain the history and legends of the various points of interest. No photo or description can prepare you for the moment you see the Al Khazneh (Treasury) for the first time. Make sure you bring a camera because picture taking opportunities are boundless.
The group stops for a hearty buffet lunch in the site and you will have some additional time to explore on your own, take pictures and buy some souvenirs. Make sure to check out the special sand bottles made from local Petra multi-colored sand.
Departure from Petra is late afternoon to the Arava border crossing. Once you cross the border you will be taken back to your Eilat hotel.
